This was a big one. Ten trees - a mix of evergreens and shade trees - planted across a large property, with fresh mulch rings set around each one. The kind of job that takes real equipment, a solid plan, and a crew that knows what they're doing.
We brought in a Bobcat MT85 track loader to move and place the balled-and-burlapped trees. Those root balls are heavy, and trying to hand-plant trees of this size isn't realistic. The machine lets us set each tree precisely where it needs to go without tearing up the surrounding turf. It's the right tool for the job, and it shows in how clean the finished placement looks.
Each tree got its own mulch ring after planting. That's not just for looks - mulch holds moisture, regulates soil temperature, and gives the root system the best chance to get established. Skipping that step after spending money on quality trees doesn't make sense. We don't skip it.
What makes a job like this satisfying is the before-and-after gap. You're starting with a wide open stretch of grass, and by the end of the day, the property has structure, greenery, and something that will keep growing and improving for years. The shade trees will fill in over time. The evergreens give year-round presence. It all adds up.
Projects like this are a good fit if you've got an open yard, a commercial property that needs some polish, or a stretch of ground that just feels incomplete. Tree planting paired with mulch installation is one of the higher-return upgrades you can make to a property - and it doesn't require much maintenance once everything is in the ground.
